Different IIMs use different entrance tests. Patterns, eligibility and dates change every year, so always check the institute’s official admissions notice.
IPMAT – IIM Indore
IPMAT coaching for IIM Indore
IIM Indore conducts IPMAT for its five-year IPM. The test checks quantitative ability, including short-answer questions, and verbal ability, and shortlisted candidates go on to a personal interview. Several other IIMs also use IPMAT (Indore) scores.

What is the difference between IPMAT and JIPMAT?
IPMAT is conducted by IIM Indore (and separately by IIM Rohtak for its own IPM), and IPMAT (Indore) scores are also used by IIMs such as Ranchi, Shillong and Amritsar. JIPMAT is conducted by the NTA for IIM Bodh Gaya and IIM Jammu.
Who can apply for the IIM IPM?
Students who have passed or are appearing in Class 12 can usually apply. Each IIM sets its own age, marks and subject rules — for example, IIM Shillong asks for mathematics in Classes 11 and 12 — so check the current admissions notice for every institute you plan to apply to.
When should I start IPMAT preparation?
Starting in Class 11 or early in Class 12 gives you time to build quant and verbal skills without hurting your board exam preparation.
